What do we do when we feel that the little things, we do in life are insignificant?
In our bigger and better-striving world, it is a refreshing revelation that even the most minor things we do matter. Through her devotional, A Little Goes a Long Way: 52 Days to a Significant Life, we discover a little goes a long way in God’s hands. Rachael explores everything we consider little and where we find these little moments through personal stories and Biblical application. At the end of each devotion is a little task and prayer prompt. This helps us ponder and apply our little. Take away here is that all our little moments in life are significant to God, and He will use each one of them.
After seeing a friend’s Facebook post about Rachael’s Book Launch team, I felt God nudging me to jump on board. While reading A Little Goes a Long Way, I found I had been questioning the little things in my life. Did I matter to my family, at work, or to friends? These daily devotions show me how the little things I do impact those around me. Encouraging me to see His daily wonder. It is our choice whether to fall into discouragement or to trust God. To believe that God will use our work no matter how small we think it is.

What A Little goes a Long Way uncovers is a significant life is simpler than we think. Rachael shows us that actions in our everyday life have a great impact on God’s Kingdom. Things like checking in on a friend, asking a neighbor over for tea, and prayer, whether short counts. Rachael believes we can make a difference while cheering the kids on at the game, in the check-out line, out walking, or taking a colleague to work.
In this book, we are presented with the choice to trust God over discouragement. Rachael hopes this devotional and her ministry can help women realize their significance.
“That women will be encouraged and realize their God-given purpose and believe their lives are significant to his kingdom. In God’s hands, small acts done with great love can have an enormous impact”.

Thanks for the book review, Deborah. When I was younger, I found the key to staying in a life-giving mindset was to renew my mind in His Word and to take my thoughts captive. One helpful truth was knowing that anything I did – even giving a glass of cold water in His Name, was remembered by Him. Another helpful truth was knowing that “whatever we did unto Him” was seen – whether it was seen or recognized by others is insignificant when we truly “know” the One we serve with our heart and renew our mind to line up with what our heart knows is true, He receives our acts of love as a beautiful gift unto Him.
Lisa, this is beautiful. I love that He receives our acts of love as gifts. Thank you for sharing. Yes, our significance comes from God, knowing He loves us, sees us, and remembers us.
I’ve not heard of Rachael Adams before, but I love this concept. God calls some like Moses and David and Elijah to big things, but most of us serve Him in small everyday ways. Each is important and needed.
Barbara, I enjoyed her book and how it addresses feelings of insignificance. And how by looking at what God gives us in our every day as a blessing to use for His Kingdom. I love your point here – how God calls some to do big things and how both big or small is essential.
“Our little moments in life are significant to God, and He will use each one of them.” I needed to read this one line this morning. I think at times we all are looking for the big moments to occur in our lives. That one sentence made me realize that the little moments may be bigger than we think. Perhaps that is the lie the enemy causes us to believe. May we dedicate our days to the Lord and He will make every moment count for His purposes.
Joanne, yes this is how I feel too. So blessed that God gave Rachael her gift to minister to us with her book and insights. I love your dedication and yes may we dedicate our days to the Lord and He will make every moment count for His purposes.
I needed this today. Thank you, Deborah.
