Our third tip is “A Summer to Walk in Flower Fields: ASK SEEK PRAY Reflective Nature Journal” is more than just a journal. It’s a journal designed to cultivate beauty in your soul, mind, and body using Matthew 7:7 as your guide.
Hi, I’m Deborah, a Christian wife, poet, and writer. My passion is writing about the profound ways God is at work in my life, from the lessons He teaches me to the faith He instills in me. I find His handprints everywhere, giving us glimpses of Heaven to make our days a little easier, kinder, and gentler.

Lessons from the Walking Path

I have an idyllic walking path, and I hadn’t gone on it for a few days, as the temperatures were high. But then, driving to the grocery store, I saw stunning new blooms adorning the trees, swaying gently in the breeze. Plus, the day was cooler as rain was coming in. So later that afternoon, I got out on my walking path.
I was taken by the intense beauty of my landscape, with its flowering fuchsias, pinks, whites, lavenders, and reds. The scent was divine, and the sun felt so good.
Then I thought, “My goodness, how amazing it is that God unveils different plants and trees to bloom throughout the year?” Even when we have almost lost hope in the winter, red berries appear. Or when the summer heat brings forth a wildflower in the cement crack in our driveway—it brings me such joy and wonder!
This reminds me of God’s perfect timing and how His beauty arrives when we need it most. A welcome comfort amid life’s uncertainties.
As God reminded me of His love for me, I inhaled the floral scent of magnolias, and I felt the Spirit say, “Do you see how I spread out the blooms throughout the year?
Yes, Lord, I thought. And then came the most wonderful epiphany about my own life and those around me, applying blooming to our lives and God’s good plan.
But why, Lord, why, do I feel left out, behind, or even, I must admit, jealous at times when I see friends, neighbors, and people I don’t know blooming? Where is mine? Even when you give me beautiful blooms, I confess I do feel these things.
Then the Spirit enlightens me: if we all bloomed at the same time, who would be there in the in-between, the dry times, the wilderness, the storms, the winter, the crack?
That is why there is no need to compare, feel jealous, or think that we are left out or behind when others are blooming around us, and we have not bloomed yet.
When we see a new bloom, whether it be in our garden or in another’s life, let us give thanks for this beautiful gift from God and know that we, too, will bloom in His perfect timing. Let gratitude fill our hearts.
This brings us back to God’s perfect timing and divine planning.
Just as the blooms in nature occur throughout the year, in God’s perfect timing and divine plan, the same is true for His children.
Beautiful blooms are God’s bouquet of love for us. Gifts of love that are waiting around the corner, in the crack, on the side, in the in-between, and whenever you might need a little beauty, encouragement, pickup, or a little God love.
God’s love makes our days easier when our circumstances tell us otherwise.
There are so many garden metaphors our dear Lord has for us because He knows we can relate to the garden. After all, didn’t it all begin in the garden?
So, on this note, my tip #3 is: “A Summer to Walk in Flower Fields” with a Reflective Natural Journal PDF Download.
“A Summer to Walk in Flower Fields: ASK SEEK PRAY Reflective Nature Journal” is more than just a journal. It’s a journal designed to cultivate beauty in your soul, mind, and body using Matthew 7:7 as your guide:
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
—Matthew 7:7 NKJV
The journal is three pages long, but you can use it as many times as you like, as we progress from Ask to Seek to Pray. There is a journal prompt and space for you to record your thoughts, feelings, and experiences as you journey through the metaphorical flower fields of life, seeking and appreciating God’s beauty.
What is lovely about this is that it is not only about physically walking among flowers, but also about seeking and appreciating the beauty and love God has for each and every one of us every day.
You can walk through actual flower fields or use the metaphor of walking in flower fields to intentionally seek God’s bouquets of beauty in our daily lives. Even if you don’t literally have fields of flowers and there isn’t a nearby flower farm or botanical garden, I invite you to walk in the flower fields of a bloom. It could be in your garden, on a walk, or in the trees on your drive. It could be the plastic flowers at Hobby Lobby, which are so pretty.
Some of us have actual stunning flower fields dressed with sunflowers and lavender. This year, we have one sunflower in our garden, and it is spectacular. However, every day, I find new blooms in the undergrowth, on my walking path, and alongside the road as I drive by. I can’t help but think that God puts these here when I need them the most.
This reflective nature journal is to be used to reflect upon the bouquets of beauty that God puts in your life. Although we are using flowers here, you may find this beauty in a tomato, a smile, a song, because:
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
—James 1:17 NKJV.

I encourage you to share in the comments about what it means to you to walk in God’s fields of flowers. Feel free to use my new PDF Resource A Summer to Walk in Flower Fields: ASK SEEK PRAY Reflective Nature Journal.
Smiles & love, wonderfully made,
Deborah
