When April showers bring flowers, tears, and hope, we can count on Jesus to be with us every step of the way. This poem is in honor of my mother, Louella Mary Patino. I will write and share a poem daily as part of April’s 30 days of poetry challenge. DAY 1: Write a poem about a specific place – Deborah’s Kitchen.

April showers bring May flowers
And yes, it is showering today
As thunder rolls and rain splatters against kitchen windows
And tears to honor Mom’s heaven day
And the calendar turns to a new page
April showers with mom,
Then Holy Week
Then Resurrection
Unpacking life and death
Leading to Hope
Hope in the kitchen
With dishes washed and dried

Love this. It reminds me that Jesus cares about the everyday and seemingly mundane tasks we have, and can teach us and inspire us through them. Visiting from Sweet Tea & Friends today.
Kym this is so true. Thank you for visiting ?
Deborah, I lost my mom over a year ago. Your poem reminds me that as believers we don’t grieve as those who are without hope.
Donna, this is so true. We are blessed for an amazing afterlife.
Debbie this is beautiful.
I appreciate you sharing this with Sweet Tea & Friends this month dear friend.
Thank you so much, Paula.
