28 Days of Prayer-Poems for Faith, Spiritual Growth & Life

Today is my twentieth post for the #write28days challenge, where I will write throughout this February. Each post is from an assigned keyword, and today’s word is “bear” Enjoy my new prayer poem, “Bear the Fruit of the Spirit.”

Jesus transforms your heart. Bear the Fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Transform our hearts Holy Spirt
bearing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control

Glorifying God in all that we do
Watching behaviors and attitudes
Bridling tongues and thoughts
Shining light and seasoning
As disciples of the Highest

Apart from Jesus, we are bare
But, with our trust in You
we are blessed with fruitfulness

Oh, grow us, Heavenly Father
Planting near calm streams
with roots planted secure and deep

For you, the everlasting vine
and we an adoring branch
Prune our dead parts and thorns
And like the sleeping trees
who slowly wake as buds bloom
For life springs with God’s pulse
Growing bountiful hope

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 KJV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23 KJV

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:5 KJV
