Does Our Story Reflect Jesus?

Does our story reflect Jesus? By letting God transform and renew our minds we see His good and perfect will. Reflect Jesus, not the world.

When we look at our lives or others look at them do we see the kind, joyful and peaceful image of our Lord? Join me here in discovering that by bringing the details of our lives to God in prayer, Scripture, and reflection we experience the transforming and renewing of our minds and see God’s good and perfect will (Romans 12:2). We reflect and follow Jesus, not the world.

Details matter –

We ought to bring every detail of our life to God. Yes, bring every detail, to-do list, concern, or dream to God. God knows the plans He has for each of us, good plans to prosper and not harm us, to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

See that every detail of our lives belongs to God because He creates the big picture, our pleasing paintings, and beautiful stories. Because the wrong brush stroke takes away the beauty of a painting. The incorrect verb in a sentence takes away its meaning. We ought to ask ourselves, are the details in our lives also creating beautiful paintings and exquisite pictures, or are they marred, distorted, and blurred? Are we making sentences like wonderful music and lovely stories? Or are our stories unclean, unfaithful, perhaps dark? Are our lives reflecting Jesus? As Christians, we are in Christ, new creations, and our old things have passed away; we have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Therefore, every detail of our lives matters to God. God numbers our wanderings and tenderly puts our tears in His bottle; every detail is in His book (Psalm 56:8).

In closing, bring every detail, concern, to-do list, calendar, fear, sorrow, worry, dream, and desire to God. When we work together with God, we are one with the Master Painter and Storyteller, the One who orchestrates and spins them into majestic beginnings and endings where one day, the final chapter will be in a place called Forever with Him.

Put my tears into Your bottle;
Are they not in Your book?
