Ponder with coffee, tea & lots of cream –
#fiveminutefriday
This is my prayer poem – “God is in the Moment”. When we look for God in every moment, He shows up as He did the day my mother joined Him. Join me in writing from the community of #Fiveminutefriday: keyword “coffee”.

Look for God in every moment, circumstance, in the clouds, the windshield, the coo and lullaby of day, birds, and sounds. Gurgling coffee with outside world noises. Today is the anniversary of my mother’s death – of course, we all said it had to be on April 1! I felt extreme peace that day, that morning, as I drove down to the hospital. The sky was bluer than I’d ever seen, but then as I was about 15 minutes out – two white doves flew through the cars ahead of me – toward me and then up into the sky. I thought, “There goes, mom.” So, as we read, ponder, and study the Word, with a cup of coffee, or for me, a tea with lots of cream, let us look for God in every moment, the doves, the skies, our mothers. Thank you, heavenly Father, for showing me. Love you, mom!
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Wow, I am so happy you were able to find comfort and peace even when your mother died. I agree with you, when we look for God in every moment, we will notice that He is ever-present. Not that He isn’t when we don’t look, but it makes all the difference to us when we do look.
Astrid, thank you so much. Yes God is with us all the time! Ever-present!
What a blessing that God gave you such a beautiful memory!
Thank you! I will always cherish this memory!
I recall just where I was
when he passed away,
and I guess I do because
it was a lovely day
in a place all roiled with hate
and lethal double-crosses
that, when realized too late,
led to painful losses.
He left that morning in a jeep
and motored down the track
while we, his mates, were still asleep,
and he did not come back,
and he thereby met his end,
but I will not forget my friend.
Thank you for reading and your beautiful writing of your friend that you will never forget.
What a beautiful message. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.
