God keeps the unkept woods. What would happen if we turned our lives over to God to keep? Be like flourishing woods, with God cultivating our new growth.
Let all the trees of the forest sing for joy –
I love seeing the tinder thrive with young limbs among swirling vines and flowing ferns. This makes me think that if God provides transformation for the woods, He will care for me.
Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:26:
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
In the forest garden, lovely wild shrubs dance in the full bloom of white and pink flowers. Out of the broken, crushed ground blooms life and beauty. The dormant sleeping ones awaken to brilliant shoots of greenery.
Walking in the mystery of these unkept woods we see how God keeps and cares for each of His creations.
Can we learn from these precious woodlands? That we, too, will flourish when we are kept by the transforming hands of the One who supports, plants, and nurtures.
In His hand –
11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. 12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
Psalms 96:11-12
7 “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; 8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. 9 Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? 10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.
Job 12:7-10
