Never Alone -When Angels Swoop In
When fear rises, I run to God’s arms for protection. There I find that He strengthens me when I am weak, irritable, nasty, and shameful. Like a hasty reaction. Or a response that was a little too sharp. Maybe a jittery nerve hit by an interaction. I am so ready to go from one to ten it seems. And hiding underneath my pleasantness, I find anger and irritation brooding. There I discover this lurking eruption at the beginning of a stressful situation or some kind of pressure. I am always surprised by my reactions – these feelings, thoughts, and moods – and I must admit that I am weak and vulnerable and only strong when leaning on God (Philippians 4:13).

Leaning on God
Did I ever think that I would be grateful for trouble?
We learn who we are by the way we handle adversity. When life is going along smoothly, it is easy to be in control. But when life falls apart, I uncover who I am and, most importantly, that I am not alone. God walks with me through the despair and the unknown. He is with me in the deep ravines and winding tunnels of life. And then I emerge with character and enlightenment that only God can give.
Yes, God shapes and molds us through the difficulties in our lives. In the Book of James 1:24 Scripture says, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Through my troubles, perseverance is created. And in my perseverance, my character is developed, guiding me to God’s incredible gift of Hope. And friend this is the kind of hope that will not disappoint because God’s love is poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:3-5).
And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the… Click To TweetAngels Swooping In
It is incredible how a reset of prayer, love, or forgiveness can de-escalate a situation, bringing swift harmony, healing, and joy.
I imagine all the angels swooping in to gently soothe us. Showing us how to step back and offer the kind of grace that God gives. During seasons of adversity, I discover that I am being shaped yet loved by my Creator. Although trials and tribulations can be challenging and often painful, each one has taught me so much.
Remember, we are never alone. God is with us.

Scripture for beautiful pondering –
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
Psalm 23 NKJV
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13 NKJV

I’m with you on all of this! I could have written these words myself: I imagine all the angels swooping in to gently soothe us. Showing us how to step back and offer the kind of grace that God gives. During seasons of adversity, I discover that I am being shaped yet loved by my Creator. Although trials and tribulations can be challenging and often painful, each one has taught me so much.
Amen and amen! Thank you for the inspiration, sweet sister!
Stacey, you’re welcome and thank you so much. Your words are a blessing to me. Grateful for each moment with God.
I was telling someone that I “revel” when I discover weaknesses. I prefer them coming to the surface than staying hidden, because it shows God wants me to bring them to Him. He knows He alone can help me – and I’m thankful for it!
By the way, have I said this before? I love how you write! 🙂
Debby, you are so sweet and kind and a blessing. I love how you write too! I don’t always understand when I am going through difficult things but I have learned to trust God with this.
Your words sound like a poem. I enjoyed reading. Thanks for the reminder – In my perseverance, my character is formed. May I learn to embrace those moments when they come. Thanks for sharing
Thank you much, I appreciate your you reading and for bringing smiles to my face today. God is so good to give us ways to mold us to His perfect way.
I’m so thankful we can come to God in any need, and like a Loving Father, He soothes away our hurts and irritations.
I’m so thankful for His kindness, Deborah, “It is incredible how a reset of prayer, love, or forgiveness can de-escalate a situation, bringing swift harmony, healing, and joy.”
Lisa, yes me too. We are blessed. Much love to you.
