Some years back, I suffered Sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) in my right ear. This began radical changes in my life and faith, as I needed to cling to God to survive. I promise that His miracles begin when we trust God’s faithfulness, even when nothing feels stable.
We all experience profound shifts in our lives. I had to learn to live with compromised hearing as an older woman, a professional film makeup artist (where everyone whispers on the film set—what a challenge that is), and while friends giggled because I couldn’t understand them.
But you see, God is our redeemer, and He redeems everything. Even though the tests and chart will show my lack of hearing, I can hear better than ever. Yes, I have a pair of superpower hearing aids, but most importantly, I have learned to listen to God.
