Bless the LORD, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits Psalm 103:1-2 NKJV

I spent many years trying to fix myself, and then one day, I had an epiphany – only God can fix what is broken. This is because our brokenness is caused by sin which separates us from God. And only Jesus can reconcile us with God. Praise be to God!
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:10 NKJV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 NKJV
God made a way to smooth our edges, soften our cracks, refine our disaster, and heal our hearts through His son, Jesus.
Return home to God letting Him soothe your weary souls.

Praising God David’s way:
In Psalm 103, David gives praise for the Lord’s mercies. Like David, we praise and thank God with our whole hearts and soul – every piece of us – because we are His creatures. We praise Him for all His benefits and goodness to us. By remembering God’s blessings, we see how faithful He is. How can we not praise God when we express gratitude for all He has done, is doing, and will do?
- Bless the Lord with all your soul.
- Bless His holy name.
- Remember God’s beautiful works and faithfulness.
- Praise God for His goodness, blessings, promises, attributes, creation, and all we are.
By remembering, we do not forget His benefits.
We praise God for forgiving and redeeming us. For His tender loving kindness and mercies, His blessings, His righteousness and graciousness, ever comforting and understanding of our frailty.
Even when David was distressed, he found that by praising God, he could have peace. His faith stood firm. Although we may not receive deliverance from our pain and suffering on this side of heaven, we will receive God’s comfort and peace.
When we turn our focus to God, no matter how broken or complex things are, we are comforted, instructed, and receive God’s peace and joy.
We are invited into a life with Jesus where we encounter His peace and joy even when our circumstances are not joyful. We move from dashed to hopeful and discover that Jesus brings comfort even when the world tips over.
Even now, I may sojourn, wandering into self-reliant attitudes before praying and leaping before asking.
But God loves His prodigals and always welcomes us back with open arms, love, healing, and restoration.
Why live on the outskirts when you can inhabit the holiness of God?
Why live on the outskirts of life fractured when you can live in the holiness of God? In the holiness of God, you will find healing and restoration. Your ruin transformed from ashes to beauty.

I know Ufuoma. But God knows we are prone to forgetfulness and wandering and love how He reminds us of His goodness. And on our part the more praise of God the more we remember His benefits. Thank you for your thoughts here.
