Today is my twenty-second post for the #write28days challenge, where I will write throughout this February. Each post is from an assigned keyword, and today’s word is “complacency” Enjoy my new prayer poem, “Remedy for Complacency.”

God’s truth is the remedy for complacency. Remove blind spots and blurred vision by putting your trust in God.
Oh, Father,
Please take away blind spots
and perilous trappings
To be better people
not like fools
but full of awareness
to snares and dangers
Unblur our vision
Wherein tearing down walls
of selfishness,
and lazy ways
As well as alertness
to the suffering of others
then defending the weak,
and vulnerable
Oh, give burdened hearts
for lost souls
As the storm rages
in moral darkness
with confused deception
Open eyes to Your truth
For we ought to run
to seek and obtain
the eternal crown
peppered with discipline
and focused self-control
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
Proverbs 1:32 KJV
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 KJV
