#fiveminutefriday
This is my prayer poem – “Spring in My New Heart”. Jesus gives us a new heart which renews daily as we spend time in the Word with Him – Spring in my new heart! Join me in writing from the community of #Fiveminutefriday: keyword “spring”.

Spring is here
I see blossoms
on the shrubs
outside my window
Oh, a long walk does take
in the beauty of this season
I feel like a seed
pushing my way
through the world
Oh, Dear Father,
grow me well in this day
For I see wind blowing,
as flag flaps
and trees bend
and the pollen dropping
yet the sunshine beckons me
and the slow mist of rain departs
Outside I can go to soak
in your wonderfulness
A little timid, I feel, I must admit
But yes, Spring is here,
and growth has come
some slow, some painful, some delightful
As I look toward the cross,
I know that the dormant season
is bringing forth new life,
a new beginning,
new love
Carrying Jesus in my heart,
the new heart
that He gave to us
This new heart
new each day
by the Word

Beautiful poem.
I love all the parallels
Thank you for stopping by twice! And for your encouraging words.
We gotta help each other out…right?
Yes! With so much appreciation. Have a blessed weekend!
I love your poetry, Deborah. These lines really struck a chord with me.
But yes, Spring is here,
and growth has come
some slow, some painful, some delightful
As I look toward the cross,
I know that the dormant season
is bringing forth new life,
a new beginning,
new love

I ask God for this, too: “Oh, Dear Father, grow me well in this day.” Beautiful poetry!
Lisa thank you so much for reading and your encouraging words. Blessings!!!
Spring is such a lovely season when we see the results of the hard days of winter. May God continue to bloom you in season!
Anita – thank you – I love that! And may God continue his beautiful blooming of you too.
Spring has sprung and birds are singing,
leaves are glowing in the trees,
world is set for new beginning,
and I fall down to my knees
to thank the Lord for all I see,
for all that in these days occurred,
for desert blooms to call the bee,
but He can keep the hummingbird.
They’re truly pretty as all heck,
a liquid light the clear eye seeks,
but they seek to stab my neck
with their pointy little beaks
which is an unexpected curse
because that really truly hurts!
Thanks for your poem.
