God promises whoever asks shall receive, seeks finds, and knocks - the door opens. In a season of wait & explore, ask, seek, knock.

While in a season of wait & explore, let us ask, seek, knock. Wait on God for His perfecting timing, and receive God’s best. While waiting, explore as you ask, seek, and knock. God promises whoever asks shall receive, seeks finds, and knocks – the door opens. So, open your door and enjoy your season of Wait & Explore while you ask, seek, knock.
And the Lord said wait –
Let’s talk about words. Do you pick a word for the year? I have never picked a word before, but I know those who do. So, this year, I prayed about it, and God pressed two words on my heart. The first word is WAIT. In this instance of wait – to pray to God for every decision I make – wait on Him instead of charging ahead with my grand plans. God’s ideas are always better than mine. When waiting on God for His perfecting timing, I receive God’s best for my life.
Then pressed on my heart was the word explore –
My second word is EXPLORE. God’s call to explore led me to an internship with a wonderful Christian author. She pointed me to the #write28days blog challenge – which I finished – I thank all of you who read along with me – it was so encouraging. And nothing like writing a prayer poem every day to our Heavenly Father. Being in prayer with God and sharing it with you all was a huge blessing. I also did a screenwriting contest, and although I didn’t place it was the journey, not the destination. Importantly, I learned so much about myself, writing, and connecting with God in my writing.
Are you in an asking, seeking, and finding stage?
Sarah – who I intern with, said I was in an asking, seeking, and finding stage, which brought me to Mathew 7:7-8 KJV:
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
So, like me, if you are in a season of WAIT & EXPLORE – ASK, SEEK, KNOCK. Remember God promises whoever asks shall receive, seeks finds, and knocks – the door opens.

My word for this year is WAIT, too :). Congratulations on finishing the #write28days challenge! It’s quite an accomplishment to write that many posts in a short amount of time. And congratulations on having an internship–how cool! May God continue to bless you as you learn to wait AND explore!
That is great that we both have the same word! Thank you very much it was fun, educational, and sometimes I was what – oh please God give me words here.. And thank you I am enjoying learning new things. And congratulations on your nature devotionals – I learned so much/and they were beautiful. May God bless you too on your wait journey!
What an exciting year is before you, Deborah! Congratulations on your internship and finishing the 28-Day Writing Challenge. It is exciting to explore various outlets (like screenwriting) and stretch your writing muscles. My one word for 2022 is intentional and my accompanying verse is the Matthew 7 verse you highlighted above – ask, seek, knock. Are you apart of the One Word Community hosted by Lisa Burgess?
