When Angels Swoop In

Never Alone in the Valley

Did I ever think that I would be grateful for troubles or when angels swoop in?

We learn who we are by the way we handle adversity. When life is going along smoothly, it is easy to be in control. But when life falls apart, I uncover who I am and, most importantly, that I am not alone. God walks with me through the valleys – the despair and the unknown. He is with me in the deep ravines and winding tunnels of life. I emerge with character and enlightenment that only God can give.

Grateful for Troubles

3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:3-5 NKJV

Through my troubles, perseverance is created. And through my perseverance, my character is developed, guiding me to God’s incredible gift of Hope.

Leaning on God

Wow, God shapes and molds us through the difficulties in our lives.

Trenched in troubles
Discovering difficulties
Finding my hope will sustain me when I find myself weak, irritable, nasty, shameful,
A hasty reaction
A response a little too sharp
A jittery nerve hit by an interaction
So ready to go from a one to a ten
Hiding underneath my pleasantness, I find anger and irritation brooding
I discover this lurking eruption in the beginnings of a stressful situation or some kind of pressure
Surprised by my reaction -feelings, thoughts, mood – I must admit that I am weak and vulnerable and only strong when I lean on God

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths

Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

Angels Swooping In

It is incredible how a reset of prayer, love, or forgiveness can de-escalate a situation and bring swift harmony, healing, and joy.

I imagine all the angels swooping in to gently soothe us.

Showing us how to step back and offer the kind of grace that God gives.

During seasons of adversity, I discover that I being shaped yet loved by my Creator.

Although trials and tribulations can be challenging and often painful, each one has taught me so much.

Remember, we are never alone. God is with us.

Psalm 23

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalm 23 NKJV

Did I ever think that I would be grateful for troubles or when angels swoop in? But when life falls apart, I uncover that I am not alone.
