I am sharing my personal essay about a lone Wildflower that my husband found. Come and discover a lone flower blooms where it is planted.
God made each one of us beautiful and unique, one-of-kind, His treasure and cherished. Just as my husband saw the beauty of this lone flower, others will see your beauty. So, dear ones, bloom where we are planted by our good God. #bloom #Summer #beautiful

Wildflower there is nothing common about you.
The sun warms my arms as my husband points to the back area of our yard, which slopes down to a natural spring and the surrounding wild woods.
He then points and says, “I mowed, but I left a flower for you, a bluish-purple one.” I head towards the unusual-looking plant. “You better hurry before the deer come and eat it.”
I have learned to take pictures as soon as I see a bloom, as they often don’t last long around here.
The freshly mowed grass brushes against my feet, and there, all by itself, is the most exquisite flower. I coo, “Hello there, my friend. Where did you come from? Are there others?”
Perhaps this wild one came from the sky as a bird flew by or the wind tossed about the other day. Or it tastes so divine that the deer captured the others before I did.
As I research my new friend, I find it is a common purple wildflower, a Bull Thistle, found in Georgia.
Oh dear little friend, there is nothing common about you, for I read that the giant bees and butterflies like you too.
So my aha is so many things, let’s see:
This lone flower my husband saw as precious enough to keep and show to me.
This lone flower blooms where it is planted!
This lone flower is unique despite being classified as a ‘common’ wildflower.
This lone flower’s color stands out among the verdant grasses.
Are there days when we feel like a lone flower—
wondering if we’ll be noticed?
Bloom?
Are we common?
No, dear ones, we are not common. God made each one of us beautiful and unique, one-of-kind, His treasure and cherished. Just as my husband saw the beauty of this lone flower, others will see your beauty. So, dear ones, bloom where we are planted by our good God.
NOTE: This little piece began with a writing prompt from the Love Letters Community.
Oh, tell me your thoughts on my lone flower, on you, and where our good God is planting you.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very wellPsalm 139:14 NKJV
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
