Many are concerned with how we add up. We may be aging, starting a new season, or falling into comparisons. But what if we tried growing our godly beauty?

I get it, as it’s easy to get lost scrolling through social media and seeing all the shiny pretty images. We wonder when our hair or makeup will look right for that picture to post. Women of all ages sometimes feel this way. Even men do.
We can either fall into the trap of worldly beauty or go with a God perspective.
How do we move from a world beauty perspective to a God lens?
When we approach our self-care for our appearance as God instructs and embrace the beauty that God gives rather than what the world prescribes, we reach for lasting beauty. Because earthly beauty is fleeting and always just out of our grasp. Godly beauty focuses on cultivating inner spiritual beauty.
Some describe a faithful Christian as glowing. This spiritual glow from the Holy Spirit comes from the inside out, radiating our body, character, conversation, and conduct – our whole being.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:15 NKJV
I believe God wants us to look our best as His representatives. By starting on the inside, cultivating our inner spiritual beauty, and living for eternal beauty, not temporal, we grow our godly beauty shining our light before men and glorifying our Father in heaven. Let our glow shine showing the beauty of God in our lives.

Love your thoughts here, Deborah. In our culture it’s so easy to get caught up into physical beauty which fades. The true beauty of a Christian is radiating the image of Christ. Thank you for encouraging us to do that!
Donna, it is so easy for me to get caught up in it and by writing about it God is teaching me what true beauty is.
“Cultivating our inner spiritual beauty and living for eternal beauty” is such a key truth, Deborah! And when we cultivate our inner beauty, it fortifies us and helps us stand against the lies about our outward beauty.
Lisa, yes. What better way to live. Life is easy when we follow God’s eternal plan than the world’s.
Amen,Debbie, your message is so encouraging and uplifting.
Visiting today is Let’s Have Coffee.
Paula, thank you for your lovely words blessing me today. I am so happy you like.
I love how you describe the faithful Christian as “glowing.” How very true! May the Holy Spirit continue to radiate through your writings because this post “glows” with great wisdom.
Jennifer, thank you for reading and I am happy it resonates. May the Holy Spirit radiate through us.
“When we approach our self-care for our appearance as God instructs and embrace the beauty that God gives rather than what the world prescribes” I appreciate the problem and that you highlight it here. As we age, we somehow feel “less than” we once were, as if we’ve diminished over the years. When, in fact, we’ve improved, in spite of what the world prescribes. God’s eyes, we are His beloved.

This is so true Suzette. It is important to know the truth that we are God’s beloved. That we are never diminished.
Great thoughts here, Deborah. It’s so easy to get caught up in looking the way the world dictates. But, when we seek to put on Godly beauty, we will be beautiful from a heart-deep level. Thanks for these reminders!
Thank you Jeanne. I had body images when younger and aging issues as older but God is kind to point me to His truth and the beauty He sees in us.
Deborah, a lasting, glowing beauty that comes from the Spirit being alive and active in our hearts. I love that! Thanks for reminding us what matters most.
Linda, so happy you stopped by. I love the Spirit alive and active in our hearts too.
