Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and our Beholder is God. Yes, you have permission right now to be beautiful. Beautiful because you are God’s daughter. Made beautiful by Jesus, by the blood of the cross. You are altogether beautiful.
You are altogether beautiful, my darling;
Song of Solomon 4:7 NIV
there is no flaw in you.
In fact, you are His masterpiece, poem, and work of art.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
Join me in 10 ways to reclaim our God-given beauty:
YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO BE BEAUTIFUL
- You have permission to see yourself as God’s beautiful daughter. Permission not to compare, covet, or be jealous because you already have everything you need.
- Today, you have permission to stop, rest, ponder, wonder, cry, laugh, do nothing, be still, recuperate, and restore.
- You have permission to move with gentle walks to running strides, from bikes to dancing, and the stretch to jump with joy.
- You have permission to play in the garden, at the craft table, with the puzzle, on the phone, at a movie and a concert, with the dogs, and in museums and estate sales.
- You have permission to love all the people God puts in your life, family visits, friend’s birthday, lake parties, lunches & dinners at home or out.
- You have permission to self-care, love your body, detox baths, and doing your hair and makeup, for she is God’s temple of beauty – for His glory and beauty.
- You have permission to drink water, water from the fountain, and living water from the fount. Water from fresh veggies and fruit and water from deep springs in your Bible.
- You have permission to read your favorite books and dive deep into our nurturing bible.
- You have permission to music – your favorite worship music, albums from bands you grew up with, and your playlist.
- You have permission to a soul-care day where you fast, pray, read the Word and it’s you and God. You have permission to self-care, soul-care and be care.
You are a Jesus woman. Enjoy being beautiful in the eyes of Our Beholder.

Your title really grabbed my attention – how true it is that sometimes we need to hear we have “permission” to do these things – to care for ourselves as we love God, and be reminded of our God-given beauty!
Jennifer, this is an area we often can put aside. God’s love is for ourselves too.
This is wonderful, thank you!
Thank you. We are blessed that God loves us so much.
What a beautiful reminder of things that we can do to care for ourselves. I love the graphic you made. Very helpful.

Love this! We hear in so many ways to do more and be more. It’s wonderful to hear we should give ourselves permission to simply enjoy our Heavenly Father and all His good gifts!
Susan, maybe that’s it. Maybe we do not have to do more. Just enjoy Him and His peace.
This is so lovely Deborah what great godly wisdom for women in this culture so focused on appearance. especially our young girls. I am looking forward to your new Beholder series!
Donna, thank you. I was on my long bike ride and this floated into my head. Praise God. I pray for them to see themselves in God’s eyes. I am excited about the series and thank you for being a part of it.
Oh, that we could see ourselves as Jesus sees us! Thanks for the encouragement to claim our beauty, Deborah.
Lisa, thank you for visiting. Wouldn’t that be amazing. Wuth help from Jesus I think we’ll be able to.
Oh Deborah, I love this SO much! All your words and graphics feel so beautiful and poetic, I LOVE the soft pink roses! And I love your heart! We really need to give ourselves permission to be who God made us to be, women who enjoy life, ourselves and HIM. He enjoys us more than we enjoy ourselves, doesn’t it seem so? I can tell you took alot of time to create this post and all the printables and graphics. Thank you sweet friend, I enjoyed visiting here today … ?????
Donna, thank you for all your love and kind words. Brings me so much joy that you liked this. I think it us true – God does want us to enjoy His blessings. And to see ourselves as His beautiful daughters.
This is so lovely, Deborah… thanks for these precious reminders. ๐ Stopping by from #letshavecoffee
Thank you Laura, so happy they bless you. Thank you for visiting.
This is a freeing truth, Deborah, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and our Beholder is God.” Thank you for all the great resources!
Lisa, it is freeing as Jesus intends for us. I often have to remember this when I find myself taking my eyes off of God.
