Why should we change our complaints, grumblings, and dissatisfactions to praising God? Dear friends, let God give you a new song.

Because we are to trust Him even when we are unhappy or confused with our past, present or possible future.
When we zero in on God’s goodness, we focus on God, not our circumstances or problems. Trusting God strengthens our faith and hope in His plan.
We choose to do this. This is our choice that no matter what is happening in the world, God is worthy of our praise.
Did you know that God puts a new song in our mouths?

God even gives us new songs to praise Him. Melodies and words to praise Him with.
In Psalm 43, King David waited on the Lord. Then the Lord heard him, brought him out of the pit, and established his steps.
And then what happened?
God’s deliverance brought forth spontaneous praise from David’s mouth. This was all from God Himself.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Psalm 40:3 NKJV
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.
We are praising our Creator through song. Because God is our Redeemer and Deliver, we praise Him.
We may ask why God would give us a new song.
A new song is given as a blessing when we trust and obey the Lord. When God delivers us, spontaneous praise that comes directly from God erupts.

Have you been there?
When you have been wrestling with God and struggling to surrender to Him, but then you submit and trust that God will work it all out. This happens to me. When I give up my discontentment with being in a particular season. Or when I grumble about why I have to wait or didn’t get this or that, and I finally lay it all down at the Lord’s feet, surrendering to Him.
And then His blessing comes.
His will, not mine –
Then the most beautiful thing happens – He puts a new song, new words into my mouth. And then I jump and down in joy, praise, singing, and dancing to my God and thanking and loving Him for His faithfulness. For my answered prayer, for saving me, for His eternal love.
Isn’t it amazing that God inspires these new songs and words of praise? But shouldn’t we, as His creations, worship Him? For He is our Redeemer and Deliver. God gave us the ability to know, praise, and worship Him. This is our love story with God.
God turns our suffering, waiting, and trials into beautiful songs of hope, deliverance, and redemption.

I love what you say about giving up our discontentment! So true!
Thank you, Kristen. It is a lesson God teaches me because I can quickly become discontent.
I love this SO much! God has taken away the sadness (well, sometimes it feels like a little bit remains) and given me a new song to sing from my heart! A love song for my beautiful Heavenly Father, may it always be on my lips! ???
Yes, Donna, so beautiful. May our lips be full of love songs for our heavenly Father.
Deborah, I loved this post. Almost every day as I spend time reading Scripture and my devotional, the Lord brings to mind a song that sticks with me all day. May a song be on our lips and in our hearts always. Blessings!
Joanne, thank you. Yes, let our songs ring out ? lately, if I wake up at night or something stressful happens a song pops up. My Pastor said some things are meant to only be sung.
A beautiful encouragement to praise the Lord no matter what our current circumstances, Deborah, even to let Him fill our heart and mouth with a new song unto Him.
Lisa, yes, and when we seek Him, He gives us new songs to Praise Him. We can live in hope, joy, and glorious praise.
