Run sweet women of joy from Angel’s good news at the tomb to the glorious feet of Jesus, turning deep sorrow into joy. Join me in writing from the community of #Fiveminutefriday: keyword “run”.

Oh, run with sweet joy, women of God, to see your lovely Savior. Behold Him. For from the tomb, you came where the Angel told you the good news, that He has Risen.
Imagine running to tell the disciples, and then who do you run into but Jesus himself? Oh, sweet women of God, how precious you are to have seen Him. Your deepest sorrow sprang into joy, opening my heart too.
Yes, He has Risen.
And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. Matthew 28:8 KJV

What a wonderful way to articulate how He takes our sorrows and turns them into joy, Deborah. ~Lisa, FMF #14

Paula, that’s how I felt when I read the verse this morning. Thank you!
They were first at the garden tomb,
to anoint their dear lost Friend,
shadowed by despair’s dark loom,
all their hopes come to an end,
but then, oh, look!, what did they see,
a mighty stone now rolled away.
What had happened, what could be
on this first bright Easter Day?
They thought the body had been taken,
and then they saw, and knew the truth,
that Christ was Lord, and He did waken,
and to the women gave first proof
to show that God was fair in dealings
and after Eve, held no hard feelings.
So beautiful – thank you!
How exciting to think of the joy with which the women ran to tell the good news!

Hi Kym, yes we I know!
Your title drew me in & kept me reading!
Barb, thank you. When I read that verse it just sang into my heart!
I love to imagine what it must have been like to have been there and to tell the good news!
Amy, me too. I guess that’s what we are doing here!
Such a great reminder, Deborah, to run to Him in everything, with everything, and that He shows up.
Yes! Thank you for stopping by. ?
